Rock Concert Festival With the Rowan Brothers Wednesday Nov. 29 at 7:00 p.m.

Not one, but three! MSA Rock Bands will perform on stage in the PAC, along with The Rowan Brothers, a talented, professional acoustical group that performed this fall at Blues by the Lake. The Rowan Brothers will teach MSA Chamber Music students in a master class during the day, before the performance. This is your chance to see our extensive Rock Program. The concert will be in the PAC at 7:00 pm. Tickets available at the door $5.00.


MSA Theater's One Acts.  December 7, 9 &10 at 7:30 p.m.

MSA's Theater program presents an evening of One Act plays performed by the MSA Musical Theater class and the MSA Theater Arts class in the Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $10. Musical Theater will perform: A one-act adaptation of "The Hot Mikado," a 1940s swing style adaptation of the classic operetta by Gilbert & Sullivan. Theater Arts will perform: "Welcome to Dystopia" and "The Veldt" (adapted from the short story by Ray Bradbury) -- two famous works of futuristic fiction, adapted for the stage and performed by David Sinaiko and the MSA Theater Arts Class. Also, "'Repent Harlequin!' Said the Ticktockman," adapted from the short story by Harlan Ellison. Shows are expected to sell-out EARLY. Tickets are available from Gayle McCoy the week before the performances.


Holiday Dinner Concert. Friday December 8th at 6:30 in the Old Gym

For a wonderful evening, not to be missed, come to the Holiday Dinner Concert featuring our NHS/MSA musicians.

The concert will feature a sit-down dinner in the Old Gym, served while MSA and NHS musicians perform. The Pasta King will provide delicious penne marinara, penne pesto, meatballs, french bread, and salad. A festive dessert spread will follow. Performances will include our Jazz Bands, Concert Band, and Choral groups.This is event is a Great Holiday Family Affair! Tickets are $15.00 adults / $8.00 children under 10, in advance. ( Reservations are required for the meal.) For music only, and no dining, tickets will be available at the door for $8.00 adults/ $5.00 children. Your presence will also honor our musicians, who have worked hard all semester to prepare for this event. Marin School of the Arts / Novato High School Present the
5th Annual Big Band Halloween Ball & Masquerade

Fundraising Event Scheduled for Friday Evening, October 27

Music lovers of all ages can dance the night away or simply “get in the mood” for a fabulous concert of music from the Big Band Era. This fundraising event will be held at Novato High School in the NHS Old Gym from 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Guests are invited to come in their best Halloween Costume, 40’s swing attire, or their dancing shoes. Tickets are available at the door for $10.00 (adults) and $5.00 (students). Refreshments will be served.

The evening will feature jazz hits of the 30’s and 40’s, including works from Duke Ellington, Jimmy Dorsey and Woody Herman. Music will be performed by the Marin School of the Arts (MSA) and Novato High School (NHS) Jazz Bands, along with Hill, Sinaloa and San Jose Middle Schools. The MSA Dancers will also perform throughout the evening.

“This event is fun for the students and provides great entertainment for people of all ages. Most importantly, any money we raise helps us pay for festivals, as well as purchase basic supplies such as sheet music,” said Mark Peabody, Music Director for Marin School of the Arts and Novato High School. This year, the event will feature three Jazz Bands from Novato High School (MSA I, MSA II and Novato High School) as well as all three middle school jazz bands in Novato.

Masquerade Big Band Dance Marin School of the Arts and Novato High School Jazz Bands are led by Mark Peabody; San Jose Middle School band director is Mike Martinez; Sinaloa Middle School by Jason Eckl, and Hill Middle School is led by Allison McIvor.
