| Application Process:
1. Fill out the application for your focus area(s) using the Adobe
Acrobat files on our site
2. Confirmation letters will be sent out with audition
or portfolio presentation times
3. Each applicant will be scheduled for an audition
or portfolio presentation in front of a panel of arts educators
4. Audition or portfolio sample:
a. Dance -
live audition
b. Theater
Arts - live audition
c. Music - live audition
d. Visual
Arts - submit samples of art work
e. Creative
Writing - examples of work
f. Video
& Film - examples of work
g. Musical
Theater - live audition
h. Vocal
Music - live audition
i. Photography - submit samples of art work
j. Digital Arts - submit samples of art work
5. Panel interview- a short interview with students about their
goals and aspirations
6. Writing prompt- a short
essay to be completed within a maximum time of one half hour on a subject
to be given
7. Provide complete transcripts

All students will be notified of the results within a week after their
presentations, provided that all necessary documents have been submitted

Audition Procedure:
Every student applying to Marin School of the Arts is required
to do either an audition or portfolio presentation. At each audition/presentation,
there will be from 1 to 3 teachers evaluating each applicant. Following
the audition/presentation, there will be a short interview with each
candidate. After the interview the candidate will go to another room
and write a short essay on a theme related to arts, which will take
no more than 20 minutes.
